Why would anyone Paint a tile roof?

This tile roof was painted with a dark green roofing paint. The owners are displeased with their result.

PAINT vs HYDRO-SHEEN
PAINT
A surface coating that applied protects the surface it covers
Paint is made up of powered solids and 22% acrylic
Paint is designed for walls and some floors
All paint fades, cracks and peels in time

HYDRO-SHEEN
Function is to bond with the tile surface by penetrating the pores an sub-porous surface
Hydro-Sheen is made of low solids and becomes one with the surface
Hydro-Sheen makes the surface stronger and allows flexibility to aid the tile from weathering

  1. The contractor should have given the homeowner a test-paint of the blueprint before applying it. Also, the homeowners should test the product firsthand so that they know how everything would turn out.

  2. Shania,

I am so sorry I did not respond to this statement. I just located it. It took 4 years for this painted tile roof to look this way. The owners would have had to wait 4 years to see how this the test turned out.
